Welcome to Marysville

One of Washington’s fastest-growing areas, for good reason

Located just 35 miles north of the heart of Seattle, Marysville is a bright, vibrant, fast-growing community. One of Snohomish County’s best places to live, work, and play boasts a bustling economy, fair cost of living, and very high quality of life. The recent influx of several new residents has led to an uptick in the construction of new homes fitted with modern materials, ample elbow room, and functional floor plans for modern lifestyles.

Marysville was established in 1872 and instantly became a major center for logging, with dairy farms soon established on the cleared-out former forests. By the turn of the century, Marysville was bustling with new businesses, social clubs, and hundreds of residents. Today, Marysville has annexed nearly two dozen surrounding areas, bringing its current population close to 70,000, further spurring the construction of more homes and the establishment of new residential neighborhoods.

Local Lifestyle

Being located so close to central Seattle and its neighboring northern suburbs, Marysville residents benefit from a dose of urban convenience while enjoying the peace and quiet of their just-removed residential enclaves. Craft brews, locally roasted coffee, and fresh seafood, all things synonymous with Pacific Northwest culture, can be found in Marysville, only adding to the community’s popularity which has rapidly grown in recent years. While this bustling cultural scene is a major draw for many locals, the serenity of the nearby rural forests offer tranquility simply not found in neighboring Seattle. Given its recent population growth, several new neighborhoods have popped up across town featuring cozy homes accented with modern finishes and contemporary layouts for today’s lifestyles.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

While the Pacific Northwest is undoubtedly best-known for its seafood, coffee, and craft beer scene, a few unexpected surprises await in Marysville. Asian-American influence, south-of-the-border flair, and down-home classics can all be found on State Avenue and beyond.

Marysville is home to an unexpected number of Asian eateries inspired by authentic traditions created with local ingredients. Korea House BBQ & Grill is one of Marysville’s more casual offerings where diners can cook their meals at their own table. A varied offering of chicken, pork, and beef, all marinated in unique concoctions are enjoyed in a sleek dining room, along with soups, noodles, stir fry, and other flavorful favorites.

Miyako’s Teriyaki & Wok is another unsuspecting spot highly regarded by locals as the best spot in town to enjoy teriyaki. Miyako also offers gluten-free and low-carb options, guaranteeing there is something on the menu for everyone to enjoy. Curries and spicy noodles are found nearby at Lakewood Thai. Pad Thai, pad see ew, spring rolls, and other classic favorites are savored in a colorful setting adorned with bronze accents and Thai-inspired decor.

Los Aventureros specializes in authentic Mexican fare, something not frequently found in the Pacific Northwest. Street tacos, enchiladas topped with verde salsa, and fajitas dishes of local Pacific seafood have made this Mexican eatery a favorite among locals for their generous portions, friendly service, and consistently delicious spread.

One of the community’s most friendly gathering spots is Hops N Drops. This traditional American restaurant boasts a laid-back atmosphere and modern menu of refined favorites like barbecue mac and cheese, rib tips, and wings, with a creative selection of burgers topped with guacamole, jalepeño cream cheese, and sauteed mushrooms. Hops N Drops is also home to one of the best drink menus in town for their margaritas, cocktails showcasing seasonal flavors, and local craft beers.
